Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial music producer and singer, who combines the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B in a signature mix. She's performed on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine's birth her name as Denise White. The singer hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing the piano and singing at church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her journey to become a musician at the heart of Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan The song has been remixed by numerous artists and is an integral part of her live sets. Her voice also appeared on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005she took on the role of the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the director of choral for this stage show. Sunshine was brought to the attention of people across the nation through 4 performances per day during 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine continued to receive recognition when she was asked to sing in the presence of President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
